Nominator's project description
| Professor Lee is a major authority on theoretical stellar dynamics. He published a seminal contribution on the optical properties of dust grains in the interstellar medium. His involvement with the Japanese AKARI space telescope project lead the Korean astronomical establishment into infrared astronomy, and he established the Korean Gravitational Working Group, now a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. In Germany he will continue his research on star clusters and galactic nuclei, the formation and evolution of galaxies and gravitational wave astrophysics. |
